ok. images converted to jpegs and exported. it's 2am. time to hit the hay.
working through a ton of images tonight. here are some i really loved. gotta love the excitement of a toddler at play with bubbles. can you hear the giggles and the shrieks of delight? and the furtive little hands grasping the air to pop each and every one? gotta love it.
and you just know they got to get a hold of that wand too . . .
and cause i know her momma loves storyboards . . .
aww. cute.
the L family is a referral of one of my good clients. the L family is no stranger to family portraits - they have tons of studio portraits hung on their walls of their beautiful home - however, they had never done a custom portrait session. i told them what i would capture and create for them would be different. when discussing locations, i was really happy that they decided to have their session done at their home. many of the images that i love are shot on location at clients' homes - i find that at home everyone is more relaxed and more at ease to just be themselves. and when clients ask me what to do, i always tell them to "just be you" and i will do the rest.
yesterday was HOT. the thermometer hit 108 in some places in the valley. the sun was intense. i have proof. i am 2 shades darker than i was the day before and that was from sitting in the shade! we have had a pretty mild summer thus far so yesterday was kind of a shock to the system. i hate when it gets to be 115 degrees here. i have lived in Vegas almost my whole life and I am still not used to it.
when it gets to be hot, the kids and i take to any water source that we can drench ourselves in to cool off like white on rice. today we were out at Town Square with friends getting soaked.
a couple weeks ago the water source of choice was the Paseo Vista Park. I mean with a sky like this . . .
shouldn't we be outside?
here are some glimpses of the fun (busted out the handy dandy point and shoot) . . .
when it was time to dry off and go home, a couple of the girls decided to jump on this jungle gym contraption in an attempt to dry off "FASTER" . . .
anyhow, this is all-nighter #3 and it figures that I should try and hit the hay while it is still dark. plus i need to get some rest. got a busy day ahead and the whole fam is going to a late showing of . . .
should make for a fun wednesday. and because i haven't done one of these in forever and he happens to be in the aforementioned flick . . .
happy hump day to ya!
saw this one a few blogs on my google reader this morning and because i am waiting for some images to export from lightroom, i figured why not?
TODAY
June 23st, 2009
Outside my window... the sun is shining brightly - it is gonna be a hot one!
I am thinking... today is going to be rough because i pulled an all-nighter, my 2nd one in 3 days
I am thankful for... business, referrals, and good clients. i need the work. i need to work. gotta make money.
From the kitchen... egg burrito maybe or some yogurt
I am wearing... gym shorts and an ON flag tee circa 2004
I am creating... life art for my clients
I am going... to make an effort to hang out with my kids and spend some QT with them today
I am reading... book 2 of the House of Night series, To Kill a Mockingbird, and Handle With Care by Jodi Picoult - yes i read multiple books at one time - keeps my brain exercised
I am hoping... to be caught up with editing all my sessions soon so that I can dive into some online remodeling - and some creative things
I am hearing... my husband getting ready for work upstairs, the ticking of the clock, the tapping of the keys as I type
Around the house... there are great expanses of wood floors that need to be cleaned really well
One of my favorite things... red mango - the OG with red raspberries
A few plans for the rest of the week... edit sessions, work on websites, field trips and kid adventures, visiting teaching, Transformers in IMAX, a bit of baking and gourmet cooking
last friday, I went over to my friend's house to photograph her new little guy c, his older brother c, and their little family c (yes, their last name begins with c - i am rather fond of that letter my self ; )
big brother c was full of energy and so I encouraged him to work out some of that energy by jumping on the bed - he kind of liked that . . .
still so very busy. been pretty much tied to the computer with editing or design projects or otherwise occupied with the kiddos - they are on summer break. today we cleaned all day and did the yardwork. we then went to the library this evening to sign up for the summer reading program and to pick up piles and piles of books. after the kids went to bed, I spent some time cleaning my office space and cleaning out my crafts closet and then it was back to editing and a design project. i just pulled my 2nd all-nighter in 3 days. when i am running all day with the kids, night is the only time I can find to work.
after i wrap things up, i need to take a week off and spend some time on marketing and growth strategies. i also plan to take some time off to experiment and have some fun with some creative ideas.
hoping to catch up on family happenings soon. i am sorry to just be posting work but work is pretty much consuming most of my time lately.
ttys.
