A few quick notes on Easter:
- we kept it really simple this year, no extra crafts, we only colored eggs
- I need to come up with a fun way to do eggs next year because my kids are a bit over simple egg dye and crayons - why must they keep growing up so fast?
- we stuck with traditions - we had the traditional egg hunt and lunch on Saturday with the cousins and a big festive dinner with Grandma and Grandpa Wiebers on Sunday - since Grandma and Grandpa Jenkins have left on a mission, everything was held at our house both days
- again this year, after we did the official egg count after the hunt, one real egg was missing. we found it. thankfully. we always do.
- confetti eggs are a hit. they are a bit messy but the kids loved them. thanks to my SIL Jen for adding that to the mix
- at almost 16, Madison has become an observer. She will enjoy the spoils of what the kids hunted though.
- my children refuse to color coordinate or match for Easter anymore. They want to pick out their own thing. Chase actually is wearing the same dress she wore for Easter 2 years ago. It is a bit shorter but it still fits. My kids are all tiny like that. (why can't I still be?)
- my children also refuse to pose for pictures on Easter Sunday anymore - while some parents can get a full on mini-shoot of the cuteness of their offspring - my kids are like "seriously? mom. let's just go." makes me sad but what am I gonna do? I got one picture quick before we got in the car to head to church.
- I have materials for several Easter crafts I didn't get to making. They are still sort of out. Deciding whether to do the crafts before I put them away. What would you do?
