Normally, on the 12th of each month, I take a bit of time to document our entire day to kind of give a snapshot of our everyday life to add to our family history. I totally dropped the ball and forgot to do it on the 12th because someone called me to substitute Primary last minute and so I was kind of scrambling to put together a fun lesson. By the time I realized what date it was, I found it to be late in the afternoon, the day more than half spent, and so I figured I could just do it another day.
And so I did June on the 15th instead.
.01 9am. The time one of the five of us (Ryan already was long gone to work) finally drug ourselves out of our comatose state and got started with our day.
.02 Summer reading. Took the kids to the library to grab some books to read and to sign up for the summer reading program at the library.
.03 Fire. Fire. As soon as we had finally found all our books and were getting ready to check out, the fire alarm in the library goes off and everyone is evacuated onto the scorching hot sidewalk to sit for a few minutes while we do a drill.
.04 Windex. My kids went through a half bottle as we whipped ourselves into a cleaning frenzy.
.05 Life lesson. Today's life lesson included organizing the bathroom and cleaning the bathroom properly.
.06 Meeting for the first time. My sister arrived that afternoon and so I drove my kids over to my parents house where my sis, husband, and my new baby nephew were staying. This was the first time my kids got to meet their new baby cousin, the first one on my side of the family.
.07 Subway vs Port of Subs debate. We were picking up subs for a picnic dinner for the park later in the evening and a verbal battle ensued over which subway shop was best. While Subway may be cheaper, Port of Subs tastes so much fresher and the meats and cheeses don't look fake or processed.
.08 Soccer camp. Today was day 3 of soccer camp for Zack. He has been attending a week long camp to improve his soccer skills.
.09 The sun will come out tomorrow. Bet your bottom dollar. My SIL Jen and I took our girls out to see the musical production of Annie at Spring Mountain Ranch. My other SIL Jo came along too.
10. It's way too freakin hot. The temps soared to a roasting 111 degrees today. I felt like I was melting.
11. Love Stargirl. The current book I am reading.
12. Night grass. In the evening, long after the sun has gone down, and it has cooled down a bit, I and sometimes the rest of the family, enjoy sitting out on the grass and just chilling ready. Tonight was one of those nights.
